Cottage Hill Place

How does someone transition out of homelessness?

This permanent supportive housing development takes a housing-first approach. By having a home of their own and a community of neighbors, basic needs are provided allowing residents to take on the responsibilities of self-sufficiency. Using the tenets of Trauma Informed Design, the 17 homes provide privacy and security while giving residents control of their own space. Front porches create a place for residents to control the desired level of social engagement and enhances the sense of community. Durable but thoughtful and gentle materials minimize the sense of institutionalism. Part of the development includes the Ellie Lambert Center, a community center that houses social services as well as shared laundry and kitchen.
